Fire Dance of Bikaner
Bikaner is also famous for its rich cultural heritage of folk-lore, folk music & dance packed with fun, frolic, excitement and rituals. A unique attraction is the fire dance performed by the members of natt sect. The dancers possessed of some holy spirit, jump on live coals, sit on them and take fistful of these live embers in their mouth. This religious ceremony is celebrated twice every year in the month of Chaitra and Migsar. In nutshell Bikaner is the city where blazing sun creates illusion of shimmering lakes on the arid expanse.
Sand dunes stand in entire silence and sand storms rage occasionally. Yet the romance of the desert overwhelms. Life vibrates to the sound of music and sways in profusion of colours.
