After categorising the schools as per the medium of instruction, we will find that in Hindi medium schools, S S Kalibadi Higher Secondary School is one of the best. The state capital is served by three main universities; namely, ‘Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Indira Gandhi Agriculture University, Kishbhau Thakre Patrakarity Avam Jansanchar Vishwavidyalaya. Apart from several colleges offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, there are many professional educational institutes, a government medical college, a National Institute of Technology (previously government engineering college), other renowned engineering colleges such as Raipur Institute of Technology, Raipur, and a music academy.
