Bhilai is the Knowledge Capital of chhattisgarh. A city of 3 generations of engineers, it contributes nearly 50 students every year to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology. It is the home of five Engineering Colleges besides another two Engineering Colleges located in nearby Raipur.All leading IT education institutions are represented in and around Bhilai.

The steel plant runs 51 schools managed by the plant’s Education Department in the township and at the Mines. About 50,000 children study in both English and vernacular languages in these schools, which also enroll non-BSP students.
