Fresh Water Springs: There are two worth visiting fresh water spring in Canacona that will refresh your soul tremendously. The first one of these, Puroner, is situated at the property of the Prabhu Gaonkar family. The spring water is essentially meant to irrigate the huge property, nonetheless, you can pay a visit and bathe in the fresh water of the spring as well. Some believe that the water of the spring also carry medicinal value.

The second spring Gogel boasts of a crystal clear water. The charm of the water is such that a splash seems simply irresistible to you. So just do not think, just jump into the water and satisfy yourself to the maximum.

Agonda Beach: This beach is just perfect if you are in search for some quiet moments to think about your life. The beach is hardly visited by any tourist and is located 10 km north of Chaudi, the headquarters of Canacona taluka. The beach is three km long and is fortunately devoid of any grass huts. The villagers of Agonda are quiet opposed to any growth in tourism in this part, and probably this is the reason why there are only two accommodation facilities on this beach.

Cavelosim Beach: Cavelosim Beach is on the coast road 11-km south of Colva. Beyond the village’s picturesque church square, a narrow lane veers left across an open expanse of paddy fields to the Cavelosim-Assolna ferry crossing near the mouth of the Sal River. Past the square in Cavelosim we arrive at Mobor, where Colva beach fades into a rounded sandy spur at the mouth of the Assolna River. Crammed together on to a narrow spit of dunes between the surf and estuary we find lot of beach resorts.

Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary: The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 10 Km southeast of Chaudi. It was established in 1969 to protect a remote and vulnerable area of forest along the Goa- Karnataka border. The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary encompasses 86 Sq Km of mixed deciduous forest. Visitors however, stand a good chance of spotting at least two species of Monkey, a couple of Wild Boar and the Odd Gaur. The sanctuary is best visited between October and March months. Cotigao is a peaceful and scenic park that makes a pleasant day trip from Palolem, 12-km northwest. The wardens at the reserve’s small Interpretative Centre will show one how to get to a 25m-high treetop watchtower, overlooking a waterhole that attracts a handful of animals around dawn and dusk.

Pololem Beach: Situated in the southern part of Goa, the Palolem beach is the most famous and well known in the southern part of Goa. It is nearest if you are driving from the state of Karnataka, which flanks Goa from the south. The beach is just 3 kilometers from the Konkan railway station and you can reach there from just about anywhere in Goa.

Until recently foreign tourists were few and far between in Palolem. Over the past five or six years, however, increasing numbers of budget travellers have begun to find their way here, and the village is now far from the undiscovered idyll it used to be, with a string of cafes, Karnatakan hawkers and a tent camp crowding the beachfront.

Souvenir stalls have also sprung up, catering mainly for the mini-van and boat parties of charter tourists on day trips from resorts further north. In spite of these encroachments, Palolem remains a resolutely traditional village, where the easy pace of life is dictated more by the three daily rounds of Todi (also spelt as Toddy) tapping than the exigencies of tourism.

Fort Cabo de Rama: The fort, it is believed, draws its name from Lord Rama who supposedly spent a portion of his exile period here. The history of the fort states that it was taken over by the Portuguese from the ruler of Soonda. Later, the Portuguese lost it and gained control of it only in 1763. Still later, the fort fell into the hands of the Britishers. Today, the fort is not in a very good position, though a trek up the fort and a view of the sea from there gives you a feeling of satisfaction. There is also a chapel within the fort area which is still in use.

Shree Sanusthan Gokarn Parthagali Jeevotham Math, Parthagali: This Math is situated at Parthagali, in Canacona taluka. It is a math of the Gaud Saraswat community, and was established in 1475 by Swamiji Shreemad Narayanateertha. It is headed by a Swamiji, an uninterrupted lineage of over 23 so far. In the campus lies a Banyan tree, considered to be a “Tapasya Kshetra”, the site of “revelation” of the “inner self” by the process of meditation. There are few temples in the campus.

Shree Mallikarjun Temple: This temple is situated at Canacona. It is dedicated to Lord Mallikarjun, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It was built in the 16th century and renovated in 1778. The temple contains more than 60 deities of different gods and goddesses inside. It has massive wooden pillars that are exquisitely carved. The main festivals celebrated are Rathasaptami or the chariot festival is celebrated in February and Shigmo in April.
